What is Abdominal Tension Surgery? How is it done?

Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty); It is a surgery in which excess fat in the middle and lower abdomen is removed, sagging in the skin is corrected, and abdominal muscles are strengthened. It is possible to get rid of abdominal fat and sagging skin with abdominoplasty. Various techniques are used in tummy tuck surgery. Tummy tuck surgery; It can be applied together with surgeries such as breast surgery and liposuction.

How is abdominoplasty surgery performed?

In tummy tuck surgery, usually; A transverse incision is made in the lowest part of the abdomen (this incision is low enough to hide under the swimsuit) and another incision is made around the navel.

These incisions are slightly shorter in partial tummy tuck surgery. Sometimes, an incision may not be made around the belly button.

After these incisions are made, the skin is separated from the muscles from the groin to the chest. The resulting abdominal muscles are strengthened by stretching method, and if there is weakness, it is repaired. Afterwards, the skin is stretched and sewn into place. Skin excess is cut off. Sutures are covered with dressing. Generally, thin tubes called drains are placed under the skin to remove excess fluid that will be collected in the operation area.

Full tummy tuck surgery can take about 2-5 hours, partial abdominal surgery takes 1-2 hours.
